Small Red-eyed Damselfly at WWT Slimbridge 7 August 2006

The first record of Small Red-eyed Damselfly for WWT Slimbridge and apparently the second record for Gloucestershire M.J.McGill.

After a couple of weeks of searching I finally discovered one on the Top New Piece at 1615. I will be looking into access arrangements tommorow to view it for those who are interested. Details will be advertised here tommorow evening, on the WWT website www.wwt.org.uk/visit/slimbridge/reserve.asp by late afternoon and the on-site diaries. Other species noted on site today include 2 Emperor, 1 Brown Hawker, 15+ Migrant Hawker, 10 Black-tailed Skimmers, 3 Common and 20 Ruddy Darters, Red-eyed, Blue-tailed and Common Blue Damselfies.
